Creative Spaces New Bern was founded by Scott Schultz as the natural next chapter in a lifelong career spent building, improving, and leading.

Scott’s path into design and construction began with formal education in architectural project parameters and business administration, followed by decades of hands-on remodeling, project leadership, and senior-level financial and operational management. Over the years, he has overseen everything from detailed renovation projects to large, multi-million-dollar organizations—always with the same focus: thoughtful planning, disciplined execution, and respect for the people involved.

Chris’ Bio

With more than 30 years of hands-on experience, Chris has transformed homes ranging from historic properties in Pennsylvania to modern residences in Florida. His background spans every phase of residential remodeling — cabinetry installation, plumbing, finish carpentry, tile work, painting, fixture installation, and detailed interior finishes.

Chris brings a craftsman’s mindset to every project. He takes pride in doing things the right way — not the fast way — with careful attention to detail and a commitment to clean, finished results. Whether updating a kitchen, renovating a bathroom, or refreshing an entire living space, he ensures that each element is thoughtfully executed and professionally completed.

Beyond his technical skill, Chris is known for being dependable, organized, and easy to work with. He listens carefully to homeowners’ ideas and enjoys bringing their vision to life. He values clear communication, keeps projects moving efficiently, and works hard to complete each job on schedule.

We needed a new staircase built for lake access on our property. Scott built us a staircase that was a thing of beauty. Ground area was pretty steep so it took some hard work and engineering to position it while keeping our request to not disturb as much greenery as possible. Work was completed on time as detailed to us. Pricing was very competitive. Minor change requests by us were handled graciously. Staircase is solid and well built. Would highly recommend this operation for any home improvement jobs you might have.

We hired Scott to rebuild a large set of stairs with multiple landings at our lake house. Scott and his team found a few surprises under a 30+ year old set of stairs, but nothing they could not handle. They showed up every day by 7:00 and worked long days to get the job done. Scott is a perfectionist and really cares about the work he does. I already have his second project, refinishing our back deck on the calendar for later this month! The price was very fair, but the quality was exceptional! I would recommend to anyone who has home improvement needs.

Our schedule fills pretty quickly as you might imagine. Maybe because we show up, provide constant communication and deliver on promises made.
